Littauer Auxiliary Receives Award

Gloversville…

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) recently presented the Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home Auxiliary with the Auxiliary Advocacy Award. This award recognizes Auxiliaries that contribute to their health care facilities and their communities.

The Auxiliary was required to meet specific criteria to be eligible for this award. During 2003, Littauer's Auxiliary sponsored numerous community initiatives, fundraisers and special events such as Blood Drives; Lexington Volunteer Program; Knitting Projects; Hug-A-Pillow, a program for mastectomy and c-section patients; Candystriper/Junior Volunteer program; and the Sunshine fund, a program designed to brighten a person's day by sending them a card for any occasion.

"With everything that the Auxiliary does, it is gratifying to be recognized by HANYS with this award", states Sue McNeil, Director of Volunteer Services. "We are looking forward to another exciting and fulfilling year."

"The Auxiliary provides valuable services to Littauer and the community", states Laurence E. Kelly, Littauer’s President/CEO. "These events and activities help represent Littauer's commitment to its patients, employees and the community."
