Digital Mammography Inspection Successful Gloversville…
The Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home Digital Mammography department was recently inspected by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The purpose of this inspection is to continually improve mammography services through FDA standards and inspections. Littauer's Mammography department was in compliance with all of the federal requirements.
The FDA inspection compared specific items in six major areas of the department to the required standards. The inspection included equipment testing and calibration, review of personnel qualifications, and documentation of medical reports and audits. The inspector also reviews the technologist's ability to maintain and document the quality and performance of the mammography department. All of the areas reviewed by the FDA were in compliance with federal standards.
"This inspection report is the result of tremendous effort and dedication shown by our staff", states Tammy Gerdes, senior mammogram technologist. "Without their constant hard work and professional attitude, this would not have been possible. I would like to specifically recognize our senior tech, Sue Boshart, for all the effort she puts forth to make this possible. She is a tremendous asset to this department. We are fortunate to have such a well-maintained program in place, and I am fortunate to be a part of this team."
"Being in compliance with strict federal standards proves that Littauer is committed to high quality health care", states Laurence Kelly Littauer's President and CEO. "The Digital Mammography department has done a excellent job in helping to attain these standards." ***
