Swartz Earns Certification from American Hospital Association (AHA)
Gloversville....
Diane Swartz, director of performance improvement at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, recently earned the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) from the American Hospital Association (AHA). The CPHRM is a national credential that distinguishes an individual as being among the elite in a critical field of healthcare management. Mrs. Swartz is one of only 37 certified in New York State.
Diane began working in the performance improvement and risk management field in 1984. She received the designation as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality in 1998, following a promotion to Director of Performance Improvement. Diane is also Littauer’s Patient Safety Officer and Patient Complaint Officer.
"Littauer encourages its employees to pursue advanced training and certifications whenever possible," explains Larry Kelly, Littauer’s president/CEO. "Doing so demonstrates our commitment to our patients and our community."
To earn the CPHRM, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of work experience and education, agree to adhere to Professional Standards of Conduct, and pass the CPHRM Examination. The exam tests the knowledge required of a competent healthcare risk manager in the various areas of risk management including loss prevention/reduction, claims management, risk financing, regulatory/accreditation compliance, operations and bioethics.
Diane has been employed at Littauer for 33 years.
