Hospital Openings

Description: Performs various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Hospital policies and objectives. Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene.  Takes and records patients’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under clinical guidance of Registered Professional Nurse.  Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies.  Serves and collects patient food trays and provides between meal nourishment’s.

Requires: HSD/GED, 1 year nurse’s aide type training or equivalent.

Status: ~Med/Surg~ PT 16 6:45am – 3:15pm; Casual/as needed all shifts~



Description: Performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining patient and operational records on a nursing unit.  Prepares requisitions for materials and services required by the Unit.  Acts as a receptionist and processes messages for patients, staff, and physicians.

Requires: HSD/GED, Knowledge of medical terminology, & possess previous experience in healthcare/medical office.

Status:  SCU ~ PT 16 8:00am – 4:30pm; OB ~ PT 16 6:45am – 3:15pm & PT 16 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Casual/as needed available on all shifts as well~



Description: Performs two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs.  Will perform a variety of examinations including abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts and vascular procedures on patients from infant to geriatrics.

Requires: HSD/GED, completion of an Ultrasound Training program or graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Posses one (1) year of experience in Ultrasound Imaging, knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Ability to perform Vascular Sonography.

Prefer: Posses three to five (3-5) years experience in Ultrasound Imaging.

Status:  FT 40 2:30pm – 11:00pm & FT 40 7:30am -4:00pm



Description: Performs a variety of duties as a member of the surgical team during the patient’s surgical intervention.  Assists with the preparation of surgical patients, creates/maintains sterile field, issue instruments/equipment to surgeons/assistants.  Work is performed under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and/or Surgeon.

Requires: NYS Surgical Technologist Certification; HSD/GED; BLS certification, One (1) year previous operating room exp; and MUST live within 10 minutes radius of NLH for call.

Status: FT 40 ~ shift may vary ~ rotating weeknight, weekend, & Holiday call on varied shifts as well.



Description: Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community outreach activities and grant administration, including, but not limited to the Vitality Plus Senior Membership Program, community education initiatives, health screenings and worksite wellness initiatives.

Requires: Associated degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in medical Social Work or Health Education. Minimum of two (2) years professional & clinical experience working in a community setting. Excellent organizational and people skills. Valid driver’s license.

Prefers: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Medical Social Work or Health Education. Experience with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.

Description: Obtains blood samples from patients for laboratory analysis using accepted clinical methods, including venipuncture and micro collection.

Requires: HSD/GED; one (1) month prior experience drawing blood.

Description: Performs various chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic and other tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Organizes and assesses all work assignments to determine priorities, to segregate test groups and to analyze results.  Performs complex laboratory tests according to written protocol.  Analyzes, interprets and evaluates the reliability of test results for which he/she is responsible.  Exercises independent judgment in the conduct of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision.

Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences and one year of clinical laboratory experience.

Description: Perfoms cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory therapy treatments, techniques, and educated patients in their treatments.

Requires: Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy/Certificate in Respiratory Technician. Possess a working knowledge of respiratory care equipment, ECG equipment, medical terminology, etc and 1yr experience as a Respiratory Therapist (recent grads will be considered) in an acute care setting. LICENSURE AS A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST BY THE NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND REGISTRATION BY THE NATIONAL BOARD FOR RESPIRATORY CARE REQUIRED.

Prefers: Posses two (2) to three (3) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting – six (6) months to one (1) year home care setting.

Status: Hospital ~ FT 40 11:00pm – 7:00am ; Casual/As Needed



Description:  To perform skilled therapy interventions for a geriatric and rehab population.

Requires: BS degree in Physical Therapy and New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist.

Prefers: One year prior experience.  MediTech (computer scheduling)

Status:  Casual to work 6-8 hours on Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm.



Description: To operate Spiral CT imaging systems to produce quality cross-sectional anatomical images.

Requires: HSD/GED and 2 year accredited school for Radiologic Technology.  Licensced by the NYS DOH and ARRT Certificiation. Posses 1 yr experience in CT.

Prefers: Computerized Tomography Certification

Status: Casual; as needed weekends



Description: To assist the Radiologist and perform examinations on patients using radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs.

Requires:  HSD or GED; Associates degree from an accredited school of Radiological Technology. Licensure/registration in NYS.

Prefers:  Technology and one year prior experience. Mammography certification.

Status:  PT 16 2:30pm – 11:00pm; as well as casual/as needed.



Description: Performs and assistas with electrocardiograms, stress tests, LCG 24-hour Holter monitors, and electroencephalograms.  Reviews recordings for quality and clarity.  Types and copies all reports and distributes them to the proper departments and files.  Maintains ECG department equipment, & supplies. Assists in scheduling tests.

Requires: HSD or GED; EKG & Direct patient care experience. AHA-BLS; ability to type 35words per min.

Prefers: One year prior EKG experience.

Status: Casual position to work on an as needed basis.



Description:To implement the Nursing Facility’s Occupation Therapy programs and services under the guidance of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, in accordance with policies and procedures and within the scope of practice of a COTA.

Requires: Certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapists. Applicants must possess a working knowledge of NYS and federal codes pertaining to the age of the residents and patients served, knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span.

Status: Casual position to work on an as needed basis or experience with Meditech EHR information systems a plus.

OFFICE COORDINATORPrimary Specialty Care Centers

Description: Coordinates daily activities of the site by performing administrative clerical duties and assist the Provider with patient care.

Requires: HSD/GED; One (1) year experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting ~ Pediatrics, Woman’s Health, Family Practice. Experience using MEDENT, MEDITECH, EMR systems. Ability/experience in vital signs, phlebotomy, & BLS certified. Ability/experience in HMO referrals, knowledgeable of insurances, and processing eligibility verifications. Experience using multi-phone lines. Position requires walking, standing for long periods, & sitting.

Prefers: Two (2) years experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting.

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST – Primary Specialty Care Centers

Description: Provides clerical support for Primary/Specialty Care Centers through patient registration, appointment scheduling, maintenance of medical records, processing patient visits and scheduling outpatient testing and referrals. Acts as a frontline contact with the patients, both by telephone and in person to provide necessary assistance and handle all communications.  Supports the medical staff and Administrator in the operations of the Centers.

Requires: HSD/GED; Ability to type 35 words per minute accurately, Two (2) years clerical experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting. Familiarity with Medical Terminology. Experience with MEDENT, MEDITECH, EMR systems. Experience using multi-line phones system. Knowledge of Health Insurances.

ENDOSCOPY ASSISTANT – Primary Specialty Care Centers

Description:To perform a variety of duties as a member of the Gastroenterology Practice and Endoscopy team to facilitate the patient’s plan of care. Work is performed under the guidance of a physician/licensed provider in accordance with established Gastroenterology and Endoscopy standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements and the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Practice.

Requires: HSD/GED; BLS Certified; Two (2) years exp in a physician’s practice with full EMR and two (2) years exp in an Endo Suite or AMB/SURG setting. Experience with taking vitals, ordering Lab Tests, & experience using MEDENT & MEDITECH.

Prefers: Medical Assistant and phlebotomy exp; and bi-lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

Providing services based upon a comprehensive assessment to assure the maximum attainable quality of life for the residents emotional and physical well being, self determination, self respect and dignity taking into account the individual residents’ special physical or age-related needs. The population service includes adult, geriatric residents.

Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in related field; experience in long term care and/or healthcare; valid NYS driver’s license.

Prefers: Master’s in Social Work; LMSW or LCSW; pertinent working experience in a nursing home setting with geriatric population.
