Directs patient care keeping within the scope of practices under the nurse practitioner/Physician Assistant licensure and level of expertise, under the direction of the supervising physician taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.
Must have completed an accredited NP or PA program and be registered by the NYS Department of Education.
One year of experience working in clinical medicine, clinic or urgent care setting. Prefer three (3) years working in clinical medicine, clinic or urgent care setting.
Full time position, 40 hours, varied shifts.

Description: The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the resident care units. The Nursing Supervisor assists the clinical coordinator in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of resident care within the Department of Nursing talking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs, and the investigation, and resolution of complaints. MANAGER of CARE COORDINATION
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN to lead a team focused on ensuring the most appropriate use of medical services and resources for hospitalized patients at Nathan Littauer Hospital. The Manager of Care Coordination reports to the VP Medical Affairs / Chief Medical Officer.
• Lead a team of RN Case Managers and Social Workers to achieve organizational goals on measures of appropriate utilization of medical services and resources
• Oversee the denial management process for inpatient and outpatient Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance denials
• Support medical staff decision-making that conforms with reimbursement policies on inpatient and observation status
• Oversee programs to reduce hospital readmissions
• Oversee an effective and efficient discharge planning process
• Participate in hospital compliance with federal core measure and value based purchasing programs
• Provide hands-on involvement in concurrent clinical reviews, core measure abstraction, denial management, patient transfer review, readmission reviews, Patient Review Instrument completions, and other case management duties of the department as needed
• RN degree with NYS license required
• BSN preferred, Master’s degree in health related field a plus
• Experience in case management and/or utilization review and discharge planning in the acute care, home care or insurance setting
• Management experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with commonly accepted medical necessity guideline resources and with
managed care industry UR program requirements
CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT
Description:To implement the Nursing Facility’s Occupation Therapy programs and services under the guidance of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, in accordance with policies and procedures and within the scope of practice of a COTA.
Requirements: Certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapists. Applicants must possess a working knowledge of NYS and federal codes pertaining to the age of the residents and patients served, knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span.
Status: Casual position to work on an as needed basis or experience with Meditech EHR information systems a plus
CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT/ NURSING FACILITY
Description: to perform various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Facility policies and objectives. Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene. Takes and records patients temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under the clinical guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse. Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies. Serves and collets patients’ food trays and provides between meal nourishments. Processes patients’ personal laundry.
Requirements: New York State Certification as a Nurse Assistant
