PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

Description:  The purpose of this job is to perform all aspects of patient intake from scheduling appointments, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, medical necessity verification and copay/deductible collection.

Requires:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Prefer one (1) or two (2) years of college with completion of an approved program in medical terminology.
  • Possess previous experience in health care delivery system with exposure to patient registration.
  • Prefer prior experience with patient scheduling or unit coordinator.  Knowledge of third party payors desired.

ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER

Description:  The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of the manager of a defined nursing department.  He or she develops and coordinates educational programs for assigned personnel, assists with the discipline of employees, and participates in quality improvement activities.  The Assistant Nurse Manager can assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the department Nurse Manager.  Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital and nursing department. 

Requires: 

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), medication competency certification.
  • Five (5) years of prior nursing experience, two of which are consistent with the type of patient population to be managed.
  • Prefer two (2) years management experience.

NUTRITIONAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Description:  The purpose of this job is to attend to the day to day operational needs of the department, as it pertains to patient, resident and retail customers.  This position is also responsible for the closing of the department.  Conducts quality check of all food production for lunch and dinner.  Assists with special function service.  Maintains department sanitation standards.  Assists with the training and orientation of employees.  Provides corrective actions for employees as required.

Requires:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prefer an Associate’s degree in Hospitality, Culinary Art or Dietetics.
  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years in a high volume institutional or commercial kitchen setting; experience managing union staff preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of commercial kitchen customer service, sanitation standards, management of frontline staff and regulatory requirements.

SECURITY OFFICER

Description:  The purpose of this job is to enforce the rules, policies and regulations of the institutions as they relate to employees and other persons.  Patrols the building and grounds of the Hospital and Nursing Home and the Medical Arts building to observe, prevent and report fire, theft, vandalism, accidents or unauthorized entry. 

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Preferred – Possess an A.A.S. in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or related field.
  • Possess New York State Security Guard registration.
  • Prefer New York State Emergency Technician.
  • Possess two years experience in a security position or 2 year degree in Criminal Justice or related field.  Must have completed eight (8) hour Security Officer pre-assignment training course.
  •  Prefer prior experience in a healthcare facility.

Description:  The Ward Clerk performs defined clerical and receptionist functions on the nursing unit to provide an organized and efficient atmosphere in which to deliver patient care.

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Employee is trained and prepared to provide non-direct care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Preferred – Completed a medical terminology course.  Computer knowledge of Meditech system.  Previous experience as a Ward Clerk or Medical Office Coordinator or equivalent.
  • Possess previous experience in a health care setting.

Description:  The purpose of this job is to assist in planning, organizing and implementing the Recreation Therapy/activities program to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the residents, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical, cognitive or age-related needs.  Integrates the recreational therapy plan of care into the interdisciplinary plan of acre.  Completes MDS+ and other documentation in the resident’s charts as required.

Requires:

  • Possess High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possess Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
  • Prefer Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or eligible to sit for the NCTRC exam.

BILLING AND FISCAL SERVICE COORDINATOR

Description:  This position is responsible for performing the billing functions for the skilled nursing facility in accordance with current private and governmental payer billing guidelines as related to short and long term care facility operations.  This position is specifically responsible for all billing and follow-up/collection activities within the skilled nursing facility for all payer sources. 

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school degree or equivalent.
  • Prefer A.A.S. degree.
  • Possess five (5) years of nursing home billing in a similar capacity required.
  • Prefer working knowledge of third party payor’s rules, regulations and computerized billing systems.  Familiarity with spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.
