PATIENT ACCESS REP- Hospital

Description: Performs all aspects of patient intake.  Duties include but not limited to scheduling appointments, insurance verifications, pre-registrations, pre-certifications, and medical necessity verifications.

Requires: HSD/GED, experience in healthcare delivery systems with exposure to patient registration, working knowledge of office operations and computer skills, good organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with and communicate well with all levels of the organization and the public, and possess a high degree of confidentiality. 

Prefers: One (1) or two (2) yrs of college, completion of an approved program in medical terminology, prior exp with patient scheduling or unit coordination or registration.  Knowledge of third party payers.

Status:  FT-40 8:00am – 4:30pm; PT-20 2:30pm – 6:30pm

BUILDING AND GROUNDS AIDE-

Description: Maintains and cares for Hospital lawns, shrubs and gardens by fertilizing, weeding, seeding and watering. Mows lawns using tractors and other power equipment. Also uses hand mowers and trimmers. Repairs and maintains department power equipment by performing periodic lubrication and making mechanical adjustments and reconditioning. Removes snow from walkways, driveways and parking lots throughout Hospital complex using trucks, tractors and hand equipment. Spreads sand or salt over plowed and shoveled areas during winter months. Sweeps and otherwise removes dirt or debris from parking lots, lawns and walkways using power sweepers and hand tools. Works inside of building complex to assist in repairing and painting of doors, walls, windows and other building structural parts. Works inside and outside building complex moving furniture, cabinets, or other large pieces of equipment. Repairs indoor and outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs, and desks.

Requires: HSD/GED, Clean and Valid NYS Driver’s License, six (6) months prior training in industrial, institutional or commercial snow removal and landscaping equipment or equivalent training. Possess a working knowledge of small engine maintenance and repair, able to operate a variety of plows, tractors, 4-wheel drive trucks, sanders, mowers, trimmers, blowers. Have a basic knowledge of general landscaping.

SECURITY GUARD – LICENSED

Description: Enforces the rules, regulations, and policies of the hospital as they relate to employee and other persons. Patrols the buildings and grounds of the Hospital campus to observe, prevent and reports incidents of fire, theft, vandalism, accidents and/or unauthorized entry.

Requires: HSD/GED, NYS Security Guard Certification, and 2 years working experience in a security guard position or 2 year degree in criminal justice.

Prefers: Experience in a healthcare setting.

PHARMACY 340B COORDINATOR

Description: Responsible for assisting in maintaining relationships with locally contracted pharmacies, managing contracts and payments,  auditing and reconciling reports from the pharmacy and the wholesaler on what is ordered, paid and dispense to patients. Duties include regulatory compliance for purchasing and 340 regulations.  Ensure pharmaceutical pricing validation and provide data for billing. Responsible for providing pharmaceutical supply expense related information and support by establishing and maintaining internal controls that provide accurate and timely expense and use histories to management for decision making.

Requires: AAS in Business Administration or equivalent education.  Possess one year of prior experience in the pharmacy industry and experience with pharmacy wholesaler software and ordering procedures.  Ability to understand Medical Terminology and use a computer to order pharmaceuticals and to generate reports for the 340B program using Word & Excel.

Status: PT 20~varies

OFFICE COORDINATOR Primary Specialty Care Centers

Description: Coordinates daily activities of the site by performing administrative clerical duties and assist the Provider with patient care.

Requires: HSD/GED; One (1) year experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting ~ Pediatrics, Woman’s Health, Family Practice. Experience using MEDENT, MEDITECH, EMR systems. Ability/experience in vital signs, phlebotomy, & BLS certified. Ability/experience in HMO referrals, knowledgeable of insurances, and processing eligibility verifications. Experience using multi-phone lines. Position requires walking, standing for long periods, & sitting.

Prefers: Two (2) years experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting.

Status: ~PT 20 Every Saturday & Sunday with varied working hours as well as a FT 40 ~ days/hours vary~

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATOR

Description: Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community outreach activities and grant administration, including, but not limited to the Vitality Plus Senior Membership Program, community education initiatives, health screenings and worksite wellness initiatives.

Requires: Associated degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in medical Social Work or Health Education. Minimum of two (2) years professional & clinical experience working in a community setting. Excellent organizational and people skills. Valid driver’s license.

Prefers: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Medical Social Work or Health Education. Experience with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.

STERILIZATION/PROCESSING TECHNICIAN

Description:  Responsible for processing of surgical instruments/equipment, for processing Endoscopes with the steris Processor, for cleaning and sterilizing reusable supplies used throughout the hospital.

Requires: HSD/GED.  Ability to be accurate, follow set rules for cleaning, sterilizing and assembling supplies.  Good organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to work well with others.

Prefers: Prior experience in Central Supply Sterilization or Operating Room.  Knowledge of Surgical equipment.  Certification in Central Sterilization.

Description: Operates the switchboard/telephone/paging system for hospital and nursing home; maintains information files on patients, controls issuance of keys; handles patient mail; provides typing and clerical support for Business Office; relieves cashier.
