IPA/NAVIGATOR

Description: Facilitates the enrollment activities of NYSDOH Consumer Assistance for the NYS Health Benefit Exchange; raise awareness of affordable insurance options in a fair, accurate, impartial and linguistically appropriate manner to diversified community members/agencies including those with disabilities.

Requires: HSD/GED; valid NYS driver’s license, possess knowledge of commercial health insurance, the Medicaid application process, and of Microsoft Office products; ability to speak publicly for educational purposes and to demonstrate interviewing skills; obtain licensure/certification/registration from NYSDOH within two months of availability.

 Prefers:  Associates in Healthcare Human Services field. Bi-lingual/multi-lingual.

Status: FT 40 ~ 8:30am – 5:00pm (varies Monday – Saturday)

PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES BILLING SUPERVISOR

Description: Supervises inpatient and out patient billing as well as patient counseling.  Acts as a liaison between the hospital and third party payers.  Coordinates all switchboard staffing levels.

Requires: HSD/GED; Two (2) year college degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent.

 Prefers:  Bachelors degree in Accounting or other health related field.

Status: FT 40 ~ 7:30am – 4:00 pm

PATIENT ACCESS REP

Description: Performs all aspects of patient intake.  Duties will include but not limited to scheduling appointments, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, and medical necessity verifications.

Requires: HSD/GED; previous experience in health care delivery systems with exposure to patient registration.  A working knowledge of office operations and computer skills.  Good organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with and communicate well with all levels of the organization and the public.  Must possess a high degree of confidentiality.

 Prefers:  One (1) to Two (2) years of college, completion of an approved program in medical terminology.  Prior experience with patient scheduling or unit coordinator or registration.  Knowledge of third party payers.

Status: PT 20 ~ Evening hours/Monday – Friday

DIETARY TECHNICIAN

Description:  To provide nutritional care to patients in the form of nutrition assessment, patient and family education, computerized medical record documentation, and related clinical responsibilities.

Requires: HSD/GED and two (2) years of food service related experience in a healthcare setting.

Prefers: Degree from an accredited Food & Nutrition program, experience with Gerimenu.

Status:  PT 20 ~ shift varies

MIS COMPUTER OPERATOR/TECHNICIAN

Description: Ensures that information system’s equipment is operational and accessible to users at all times.  Performs scheduled tasks required of the MIS department.

Requires: HSD/GED; Possess a diploma, certificate, or degree from a computer technology school/college; and One (1) year experience as a Computer Operator with one (1) year experience repairing PC’s and printers.

Prefers: Associates degree in a Computer Science and A+ certification; and Three (3) years experience as a Computer Operator with three (3) years experience repairing PC’s and printers.

HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT CLERK

Description: Processes admissions and assembles discharge and ambulatory surgery records.  Performs Deficiency Analysis; ensures all reports are on record.  Prepares folders for completed records to be filed into permanent file.  Process transcribed reports into appropriate area.  Answer phone requests for medical record information or retrieval of old records for nursing floors.  Provides billing information for Patient Accounts.

Requires: HSD/GED, minimum one (1) year experience/training using medical office procedures dealing with medical records in a Medical Records Department, Physician’s office or other healthcare facility

Prefers: Knowledge in Medical Terminology; one (1) to two (2) year experience in a Medical Records Department or an acute care facility.

Status:  FT-40~10:00am – 6:30pm

BUILDING AND GROUNDS AIDE

Description: Maintains and cares for Hospital lawns, shrubs and gardens by fertilizing, weeding, seeding and watering. Mows lawns using tractors and other power equipment. Also uses hand mowers and trimmers. Repairs and maintains department power equipment by performing periodic lubrication and making mechanical adjustments and reconditioning. Removes snow from walkways, driveways and parking lots throughout Hospital complex using trucks, tractors and hand equipment. Spreads sand or salt over plowed and shoveled areas during winter months. Sweeps and otherwise removes dirt or debris from parking lots, lawns and walkways using power sweepers and hand tools. Works inside of building complex to assist in repairing and painting of doors, walls, windows and other building structural parts. Works inside and outside building complex moving furniture, cabinets, or other large pieces of equipment. Repairs indoor and outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs, and desks.

Requires: HSD/GED, Clean and Valid NYS Driver’s License, six (6) months prior training in industrial, institutional or commercial snow removal and landscaping equipment or equivalent training. Possess a working knowledge of small engine maintenance and repair, able to operate a variety of plows, tractors, 4-wheel drive trucks, sanders, mowers, trimmers, blowers. Have a basic knowledge of general landscaping.

SECURITY GUARD – MUST BE LICENSED

Description: Enforces the rules, regulations, and policies of the hospital as they relate to employee and other persons. Patrols the buildings and grounds of the Hospital campus to observe, prevent and reports incidents of fire, theft, vandalism, accidents and/or unauthorized entry.

Requires: HSD/GED, NYS Security Guard Certification, and 2 years working experience in a security guard position or 2 year degree in criminal justice.

Prefers: Experience in a healthcare setting.

PHARMACY 340B COORDINATOR

Description: Responsible for assisting in maintaining relationships with locally contracted pharmacies, managing contracts and payments,  auditing and reconciling reports from the pharmacy and the wholesaler on what is ordered, paid and dispense to patients. Duties include regulatory compliance for purchasing and 340 regulations.  Ensure pharmaceutical pricing validation and provide data for billing. Responsible for providing pharmaceutical supply expense related information and support by establishing and maintaining internal controls that provide accurate and timely expense and use histories to management for decision making.

Requires: AAS in Business Administration or equivalent education.  Possess one year of prior experience in the pharmacy industry and experience with pharmacy wholesaler software and ordering procedures.  Ability to understand Medical Terminology and use a computer to order pharmaceuticals and to generate reports for the 340B program using Word & Excel.

Description: Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community outreach activities and grant administration, including, but not limited to the Vitality Plus Senior Membership Program, community education initiatives, health screenings and worksite wellness initiatives.

Requires: Associated degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in medical Social Work or Health Education. Minimum of two (2) years professional & clinical experience working in a community setting. Excellent organizational and people skills. Valid driver’s license.

Prefers: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Medical Social Work or Health Education. Experience with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.

STERILIZATION/PROCESSING TECHNICIAN

Description:  Responsible for processing of surgical instruments/equipment, for processing Endoscopes with the steris Processor, for cleaning and sterilizing reusable supplies used throughout the hospital.

Requires: HSD/GED.  Ability to be accurate, follow set rules for cleaning, sterilizing and assembling supplies.  Good organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to work well with others.

Prefers: Prior experience in Central Supply Sterilization or Operating Room.  Knowledge of Surgical equipment.  Certification in Central Sterilization.
