Description:  The purpose of this job is to process admissions and assemble discharge and ambulatory surgery records.  Performs Deficiency Analysis; ensures all loose reports are on record.  Prepares folders for completed records to be filed into permanent file.  Processes transcribed reports to appropriate area.  Answers telephone requests for medical record information or retrieval of old records for nursing floors.  Ensures baby names and medical record numbers are corrected in central index.  Provides billing information for Patient Financial Services.  Retrieves records for outside reviews.

Requires:

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer a High School diploma and knowledge in Medical Terminology.
  • Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience/training in basic clerical skills which includes computer skills, basic filing skills and experience/training using medical office procedures dealing with medical records in a Medical Records/HIM department, Physician’s office or other healthcare facility.
  • Prefer one (1) to two (2) years experience in a Medical Records/HIM department in an acute care facility.

Status:  7:30am – 4:00pm (40 hours)  Required to work two (2) Sundays per month.

WARD CLERK

Description:  The Ward Clerk performs defined clerical and receptionist functions on the nursing unit to provide an organized and efficient atmosphere in which to deliver patient care.

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Employee is trained and prepared to provide non-direct care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Preferred – Completed a medical terminology course.  Computer knowledge of Meditech system.  Previous experience as a Ward Clerk or Medical Office Coordinator or equivalent.
  • Possess previous experience in a health care setting.

  Status: 6:45am – 3:15pm (16 hours), Casual (Varied Hours)

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Description:  The purpose of this job is to maintain all internal/external structural & mechanical integrity of all Hospital/Nursing Home properties and equipment.

Requires:

  •   Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  •   Possess 2-year level of experience in commercial, institutional or industrial plant maintenance.  Demonstrated mechanical/electrical ability.

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING OFFICE REP 

Description: The purpose of this job is to provide services that maintain the proper flow of patients, records and communication in the Diagnostic Imaging Department taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

Requires:

  • Possesses an AAS Degree in Secretarial Science with Medical Terminology knowledge or equivalent education or equivalent experience. Must be able to type 50 words per minute.
  • Possesses two years prior secretarial experience and one year experience in Radiology.  Must be able to function well in an area of high-volume work and handle stressful situations effectively.  Requires very good communication skills and time management skills.

Status:    8 Hours  (Varied hours)

Description: The purpose of this position is to clean and service the Hospital, Medical Arts Building, Gloversville Primary Care Center building interior, perform a variety of housekeeping duties and repetitive tasks to maintain the building complex in a safe, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.

Required: Possess High School Diploma or equivalent education.

Preferred: Possess one (1) year environmental services experience in a healthcare setting.

Acts as front line contact with patients, both by telephone and in person to provide necessary assistance and handle all communication.  Supports the medical staff and Vice President in the operations of the Primary/Specialty Care Center.  Takes into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.
