RECREATION THERAPY COORDINATOR

Description:  The purpose of this job is to assist in planning, organizing and implementing the Recreation Therapy/activities program to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the residents, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical, cognitive or age-related needs.  Integrates the recreational therapy plan of care into the interdisciplinary plan of care.  Completes MDS+ and other documentation in the resident’s cart as required.

Requires: 

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Possess Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
  • Prefer Certified Recreation Specialist or eligible to sit for the NCTRC exam.
  • Prefer certification as a Recreation Therapist.
  • Prefer two (2) years experience as a Recreation Therapist in an applicable setting.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AIDE

Description:  The purpose of this job is to clean and service the Hospital building interior, move furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the building and perform a variety of housekeeping duties and repetitive tasks to maintain the building complex in a safe, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Prefer one year environmental services experience in a healthcare setting.

ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER

Description:  The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of the manager of a defined nursing department.  He or she develops and coordinates educational programs for assigned personnel, assists with the discipline of employees, and participates in quality improvement activities.  The Assistant Nurse Manager can assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the department Nurse Manager.  Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital and nursing department. 

Requires: 

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), medication competency certification.
  • Five (5) years of prior nursing experience, two of which are consistent with the type of patient population to be managed.
  • Prefer two (2) years management experience.

SECURITY OFFICER

Description:  The purpose of this job is to enforce the rules, policies and regulations of the institutions as they relate to employees and other persons.  Patrols the building and grounds of the Hospital and Nursing Home and the Medical Arts building to observe, prevent and report fire, theft, vandalism, accidents or unauthorized entry. 

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Preferred – Possess an A.A.S. in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or related field.
  • Possess New York State Security Guard registration.
  • Prefer New York State Emergency Technician.
  • Possess two years experience in a security position or 2 year degree in Criminal Justice or related field.  Must have completed eight (8) hour Security Officer pre-assignment training course.
  •  Prefer prior experience in a healthcare facility.

Description:  The Ward Clerk performs defined clerical and receptionist functions on the nursing unit to provide an organized and efficient atmosphere in which to deliver patient care.

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Employee is trained and prepared to provide non-direct care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Preferred – Completed a medical terminology course.  Computer knowledge of Meditech system.  Previous experience as a Ward Clerk or Medical Office Coordinator or equivalent.
  • Possess previous experience in a health care setting.

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide clerical support for Primary/Specialty Care Services.  Acts as front line contact with patients, both by telephone and in person to provide necessary assistance and handle all communication.  Supports the medical staff and Vice President in the operations of the Primary/Specialty Care Center.  Takes into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

Requires: 

  • Possess high school education or equivalent.
  • Possess two (2) or more years experience in a physician’s office or patient care setting.
  • Possess one (1) year prior experience in physician’s office or patient care setting.
  • Possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, physician office practices and Medical Records.
  • Possess one (1) year experience with computer software: MEDENT, MEDITECH, and various Microsoft Office applications.
