ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER

Description:  The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of the manager of a defined nursing department.  He or she develops and coordinates educational programs for assigned personnel, assists with the evaluation and discipline of employees, and participates in quality improvement activities.  The Assistant nurse Manager can assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the department Nurse Manager.  Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the hospital and nursing department.

Requires: 

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group (i.e., neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) served on their assigned unit.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Possess current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).  Possess medication competency certification.
  • Possess five (5) years of prior nursing experience, two of which are consistent with the type of patient population to be managed.
  • Prefer two (2) years in management experience.

Description: Renders professional care diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.

Requires:

  • ACLS certified

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Description: Renders nursing care to patients within an assigned unit under the clinical supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, and in accordance with hospital/nursing home policies and objectives. Performs a wide variety of patient care services for assigned patients.

Requires:

  • HSD/GED
  • Successful completion/graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse Program
  • NYS LPN License ~ current and valid
  • BLS certified
  • Completion of IV course & blood administration course within 3 months of hire/accepting position

DIRECTOR OF NURSING

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide strong, innovative, effective leadership to the Nursing Facility with a well-organized and trained nursing staff which meets the needs of the resident population.  Works with the Nursing department as part of the interdisciplinary team to provide current practices, complying with regulatory requirements consistent with the philosophy and goals of the organization.  Assists the Administrator and has the authority to act on their behalf providing overall day to day management in the absence of the Vice President/Administrator of the Nursing Home, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.  Leads team with best practices to give high quality care.  Work is performed in accordance with established nursing home standards and practices, established regulatory requirements consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the nursing facility and hospital. 

Requires: 

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for adult and geriatric population
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.  Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Possess three (3) or more years experience in Long Term Care.

RN SUPERVISOR

Description:  The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the resident care units.  The Nursing Supervisor assists the clinical coordinator in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of resident care within the Department of Nursing taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs, and the investigation and resolution of complaints.  The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire Nursing Home in the absence of Administration with the support of the designated Director of Nursing on call.

Requires: 

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s Degree or diploma.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group (adult, geriatric) served on their assigned unit.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Nurse.  Basic Life Support certification.
  • Two (2) years of medical/surgical experience or two (2) years long term care experience.
  • Prefer two (2) years of nursing management experience in a skilled nursing facility.

Description:  The Nurse Manager is the first line manager designated as the leader for a specified nursing unit, its resident population, and the assigned staff.  The Nurse Manager has 24 hour responsibility and accountability for all resident care activities taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.

Work is performed in accordance with established hospital and nursing home standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the hospital and nursing department.
