Ultrasound is a technology that uses sound waves to image the body. Unlike other radiology procedures, there is no radiation involved, making it very safe. We use ultrasound today to image the body, to take pictures of the fetus during pregnancy, to assist with biopsies, and to aid the radiologist with diagnosing disorders.
