Nutrition Counseling Services at Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home provides a comprehensive approach to medical nutrition therapy. Nathan Littauer's team of registered dietitians, under the direct supervision of a highly trained Clinical Nutrition Manager, are equipped to meet the needs of patients with a wide range of health conditions. The registered dietitians conduct individual counseling sessions that are personalized to address each patient's specific needs.
Indications for Referrals
Patients are referred to Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Services by their primary care physician, often for follow-up medical nutrition therapy after being discharged from the Hospital. Our team of registered dietitians provides services to patients of all ages from newborns and children to adolescents and adults, including pregnant women and seniors. Our Service treats patients with a wide array of diseases and disorders, including but not limited to:
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Diabetes
- Digestive diseases
- Dysphasia (swallowing difficulties)
- HIV/AIDS
- Lipid abnormalities
- Malnutrition
- Obesity
- Organ failure
- Osteoporosis
- Pediatric failure to thrive

Nathan Littauer's Clinical Nutrition Team comprises a Clinical Nutrition Manager and two Registered Dietitians who have a wealth of experience and can meet the needs of a wide variety of complex disorders. Our team specializes in Diabetes, Obesity, and Eating Disorder consultations.
