Rehabilitative Medicine
The Rehabilitative Medicine Department provides Physical Therapy and Speech/Language Pathology services to inpatients and outpatients with a physician referral. We offer one-on-one care in our two, fully equipped gyms. Come and see our Primus RS Rehabilitation System, the most advanced rehab system in Fulton County!
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy Services include a wide variety of treatment procedures for pediatric, adult, and geriatric neurological, orthopedic, diabetic, and wound care patients. Therapists use state-of-the-art techniques to assist patients in returning to their prior levels of function and educate patients in at-home exercise programs.
Speech and Language Pathology
Speech and Language Pathology Services are available to cover a variety of speech and language disorders. New to our program is videofluoroscopy, a motion X-ray study used to evaluate swallowing disorders. Evaluation, diagnosis, and remediation are available to improve the communication skills of children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
We treat the following disorders:
- Aphasia
- Aural deficits
- Cleft palate
- Delayed speech and stuttering
- Laryngectomies
- Traumatic brain injury
Augmentative communication devices are available when appropriate.
We offer the following services to the community:
- Ergonomic (workstation) evaluations to industry
- Lectures and demonstrations on exercise and fitness
- Job fairs and career days for area school districts
- Exercise for specific diagnoses (cardio-pulmonary, diabetic, arthritis)
Rehabilitative Medicine is located on the ground floor, in the northwest corner of the hospital. Handicapped and patient parking is available in the lot adjacent to the department.
