Diabetes

Nathan Littauer Hospital achieved "Recognition" status from the American Diabetes Association in 2003. In April of 2009, our recognition status by the ADA was continued. Our program has helped hundreds of adults with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes learn how to live successfully with this disease.

The strongest aspect of the program is our large, multidisciplinary team of teaching professionals who focus on the patient as an individual when treating diabetes. Whether you are recently diagnosed or have been living with diabetes, we will work closely with you to design a program suited to your needs. Sessions emphasize understanding diabetes and learning the skills necessary to live both physically and mentally with the disease process. Our team includes pharmacists, registered dieticians, a nurse practitioner, a physical therapist, and registered nurses.
