GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Food and other supplies inside Ukraine are becoming increasingly hard to come by, and Ukrainian civilians continue to travel seeking safety, creating a humanitarian crisis for an estimated 10 million Ukrainians. “We have always been a local hospital with a global view,” says Nathan Littauer Vice President of Marketing Cheryl McGrattan. “Because of our international workforce, we are quick to respond to global crises. From the earthquake in Haiti, a typhoon in the Pacific, to sending pizzas to an ER responding to tornado-ravaged Missouri; our staff are beyond generous. As the last two years demonstrate, so is our community. Nathan Littauer wants the people of Ukraine to know there are others who stand with them. That’s why we are answering the Ukraine’s call for help.” Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home announces that the organization is working in tandem with St. John’s Episcopal Church of Johnstown, NY. Together, the two organizations are establishing themselves as drop-off locations, where local donations (from approved supply lists) can be made for the people of Ukraine.
How can you help? Visit Nathan Littauer’s Facebook page or website and view the Aid for Ukraine flyer, where a list of needed items is provided. A list of needed items is also provided below. If you happen to have any items from the list you can spare willingly, you may drop them off at Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home’s main entrance, or at the back door of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Johnstown, NY. “We must act fast,” McGrattan adds. “Any donations must be made by March 30 for a shipment leaving the Capital Region to the Ukraine.”
