GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home has been selected as a national Healthy People 2030 Champion by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHSS). Founded by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), Healthy People 2030 is a set of data-driven health improvement objectives for the next decade. To be selected, public and private organizations must significantly impact health outcomes and embody Healthy People goals.

Champions are recognized by ODPHP as health leaders. Nathan Littauer President and CEO Sean Fadale stated, “Earning this designation not only supports our mission, but further demonstrates our commitment to our community and its health. As a leading hospital and healthcare system in Fulton and Montgomery Counties, meeting these goals speaks volumes of our dedication to improving the health and well-being of all.”
Objectives of designated Healthy People 2030 Champions embrace the public health needs of the Mohawk Valley Region’s citizens and communities, promote wellness and improves health through education, research, and outreach. Champions bring attention to, and help narrow, health inequities in communities, while also contributing to positive, systemic change in various healthcare professions.
As a Healthy People 2030 Champion, Nathan Littauer will use the “HP2030 Champion” emblem on some of the organization’s digital assets. In addition, Nathan Littauer will continue to promote Healthy People 2030 goals and objectives—which include improving health conditions, health behaviors, specific populations, settings, systems, and social determinants of health.
