GLOVERSVILLE, NY – When a couple arrived at The Birthing Center at Nathan Littauer Hospital, they may not have realized they would be bringing home a local celebrity. Kennedy Villafane and Anais Marquez, whose hometown is Amsterdam, ended up having Nathan Littauer’s First Baby of the Year!
Anais checked into Littauer’s Birthing Center at 6:01 a.m. January 2.
Mother; Anais Marquez, and Father; Kennedy Villafane, were very excited to bring baby Alanis into this world. “Our little boy at home is so excited to meet his sister,” they explained.
Within an hour, Alanis, was born January 2 at 6:53 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs. and 13 oz. with a length of 19”, making her the very first baby delivered at Nathan Littauer Hospital for the year 2022.

Inside the gift basket, are: clothes for baby Alanis, blankets, pacifiers, and little plush toys. Director of Nathan Littauer’s Volunteer Services, Sue McNeil and Auxiliary Volunteer Mary Vandenabeele both presented the basket to little Alanis and her family.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” says mom. “It is a beautiful gesture and is incredibly generous of Nathan Littauer.”
“We’re incredibly thankful,” Dad said. “We’re very happy to have come here. Nathan Littauer has a great team and everyone was so nice to us.”
