RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Description:  To assist the Radiologist and perform examinations on patients using radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs. 

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) year accredited school for Radiographic Technology.
  • Prefer an Associates Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensed by New York State Department of Health.  ARRT certified.  American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Prefer one (1) year prior experience.

Status:   11:00pm – 7:00am (40 hours), 2:30pm – 11:00pm (40 hours) holiday rotation required and every other weekend possible & Casual

CT TECHNOLOGIST

Description:  To operate the Spiral CT Imaging System to produce quality cross-sectional anatomical images.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) year accredited school for Radiologic Technology or accredited school for Computerized Tomography.
  • Licensed by New York State Department of Health.  ARRT certified & BLS.  Obtain CT certification with one (1) year of hire or transfer.
  • Prefer one (1) year prior experience/CT certification.

Status:  11:00pm – 7:00am (40 hours)

ECG/EEG TECHNICIAN

Description:  The purpose of this job is to perform and assist with electrocardiograms, cardiac stress tests, 24-hour Holter Monitors and electroencephalograms.  Reviews recording for quality and clarity.  Maintains ECG department equipment, supplies and reports problems to the supervisor.  Acts as a resource to patient scheduling department when necessary.

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess basic life support training.
  • Prefer medical training post high school, computer training.
  • Possess American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS).
  • Possess one (1) year prior experience in ECG.  Six (6) months experience with Stress testing and Holter Monitor hook up.  Six (6) months experience with EEG and head electrode hook ups.
  • Possess knowledge of all ECG and EEG equipment, advanced computer skills, medical terminology and basic anatomy and physiology.

Status:  1:45pm – 10:15pm (40 hours) Every other weekend possible

PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide technical physical therapy services in accordance with patient care plans, department policies and procedures and within the scope of practice for Physical Therapy Assistants taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. 

  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Possess a New York State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Possess no prior experience.

PHLEBOTOMIST

Description:  Obtains blood samples from patients for laboratory analysis using accepted clinical methods, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical, mental or age-related needs and performs processing of specimens.

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer two (2) year degree from an accredited college.
  • Prefer phlebotomy certification.
  • Possess one (1) month experience in the drawing of blood samples from clinical patients.
  • Prefer six (6) months experience in the drawing of blood samples from clinical patients.  Possess good computer skills.

Status:  2:30pm – 11:00 pm (40 hours), 6:30am – 3:00pm (40 hours) & 11:00pm – 7:00am (40), 6:00am – 2:30pm (40)

Description: Performs various patient care activities and related services under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with Hospital policies and objectives.

Bathes and assists patients with personal hygiene.  Takes and records patients’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure under clinical guidance of Registered Professional Nurse.  Cleans, prepares and stores equipment trays and other supplies.  Serves and collects patient food trays and provides between meal nourishment’s.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • One (1) year nurse’s aide type training or equivalent

Status: Med/Surg. 2:45pm – 11:15pm (40 hours), 10:45pm – 7:15am (40 & 36 hours) & Casual (Varied)

Float Pool:  10:45pm – 7:15am (40 hours)

ER:  10:45pm – 7:15am (16 hours)

REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

Description: Performs cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory therapy treatments, techniques, and educate patients in their treatments.

Requires: Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy/Certificate in Respiratory Technician. Possess a working knowledge of respiratory care equipment, ECG equipment, medical terminology, etc. and 1yr experience as a Respiratory Therapist (recent grads will be considered) in an acute care setting. LICENSURE AS A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST BY THE NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND REGISTRATION BY THE NATIONAL BOARD FOR RESPIRATORY CARE REQUIRED.

Prefers: Possess two (2) to three (3) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting – six (6) months to one (1) year home care setting.

CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Description: Performs various chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic and other tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Organizes and assesses all work assignments to determine priorities, to segregate test groups and to analyze results.  Performs complex laboratory tests according to written protocol.

Analyzes, interprets and evaluates the reliability of test results for which he/she is responsible.

Exercises independent judgment in the conduct of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NYS CLT registration/licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences
  • One (1) year clinical laboratory experience

REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST CARDIOVASCULAR/PULMONARY REHAB

Description:  The purpose of this job is to perform cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory therapy treatments, techniques and education of the patient and to perform and coordinate the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab Program taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age related needs. 

  • Associates in Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent study meeting NBRC requirements for Registered Respiratory Therapy credential.
  • Prefer COPD educator, Asthma Educator, Cardiac Rehab Specialist, Exercise Physiologist and Glucose Monitoring Certification.
  • Current license from the New York State Education Department and certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Possess one (1) year experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting and Pulmonary Rehab.
  • Prefer two (2) to three (3) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting and two (2) years Pulmonary Rehab.  American Heart Association ACLS certified.

Description:  To perform skilled therapy interventions for a geriatric and rehab population.

Requires:

  • HSD/GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • Prefer Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Possess York State Physical Therapist license.  Possess CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) certification.

Prefers:

  • One (1) year prior experience
  • Prior Meditech scheduling experience

Status:    Casual to work 6-8 hours on Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm

Description: Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all dynamic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an Ultrasound Training Program or graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible in an Ultrasound modality.
  • Possess one (1) year of experience in Ultrasound Imaging
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Ability to perform Vascular Sonography
  • Prefer three (3) to five (5) years experience in Ultrasound Imaging.  Echo experience preferred.
