Description:  Develop, implement and supervise a materials supply support system that operates efficiently to meet the needs of the individual departments within the hospital.  Organize and supervise the distribution area, controlling material movement throughout the hospital to include; Courier Service, Storeroom (issuing and receiving) and Forms Distribution.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess an Associate’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Possess three (3) years of healthcare experience.  Two (2) years supervisory or project management training or experience.
  • Possess knowledge in inventory control, ordering of supplies and management skills.  Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.   Must be self-motivating; result oriented, possess leadership, delegating and decision making abilities.

HIM SPECIALIST

Description:  The purpose of this job is to work closely with Director to maintain and improve processes related to electronic health records (EHRs).  Maintains form dictionaries in HIS system and other databases.  Training, monitoring and coordinating department staff and hospital staff members in EHR processes.  Provides coverage for all clerical functions including correspondence and ICR area as needed.  Answers telephone requests for medical record information.  Assists Director with clerical, performance improvement and secretarial tasks as needed. 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer an Associate’s degree with major in Health Information Technology (Medical Records program), RHIT and Accredited Records Technician certification from the American Health Information Management Association.
  • Possess six (6) months experience in Health Information Department as Correspondence Secretary or equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the legality for release of confidential Medical Record information.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Description:  To maintain all internal/external structural and mechanical integrity of all Hospital/Nursing Home properties and equipment. 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Possess two (2) year level of experience in commercial, institutional or industrial plant maintenance.  Demonstrates mechanical/electrical ability.
  • Prefer three (3) year level of experience in healthcare plant maintenance, with an understanding of carpentry, mechanical, plumbing and electrical methods and techniques.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.  Ability to operate and understand power tools, job specific computer operations, electrical meters, electrical switches and circuit panels or ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.  Ability to perform basic computational skills in order to troubleshoot and estimate materials requirements.

Description:  The purpose of the job is to operate the switchboard/telephone/paging system for the Hospital and Nursing Home.

REGISTRATION REPRESENTATIVE

Description:  The purpose of this job is to perform all aspects of patient intake.  Accurately gather insurance, demographic and diagnostic information for the proper methodology of billing. 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer one (1) or two (2) years’ college with completion of an approved program in medical terminology.
  • Possess one (1) or two (2) years’ experience in a health care related field.  Must have exceptional public relation skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of third party payors.

Status:  3:00pm – 11:00pm (16 hours) Saturday and Sunday & 2:45pm – 11:15pm (40 hours)

HIM TRANSCRIPTION COORDINATOR

Description:  The purpose of this job is to coordinate the activities of all Transcriptionists which includes but not limited to scheduling, training, in-services, monitoring productivity and production of statistical reports. 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess Associate’s degree in Medical Secretarial Science or equivalent major with course work in Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Must be able to type 50 words per minute and be proficient in the use of digital transcription equipment.
  • Possess two (2) years experience transcribing medical dictation.
  • Prefer two (2) years experience transcribing medical dictation in an acute care setting using digital dictation equipment.

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide services that maintain the proper flow of patients, records and communication in the Diagnostic Imaging Department taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

Description:  The Ambassador is the patient point of contact for Nutritional Services, on their designated unit or area, and supports the department through all aspects of the meal process from patient meal section, tray assembly, transport, delivery and retrieval of the completed food patient/resident nourishments & inventories and stock unit kitchens.

  • Possess one (1) to two (2) years working experience in a customer service setting, preferably in Healthcare and/or Food Service.
  • Possess a working knowledge of therapeutic diets and basic computer skills.

Description:  The purpose of this job is to enforce the rules, policies and regulations of the institutions as they relate to employees and other persons.  Patrols the building and grounds of the Hospital and Nursing Home and the Medical Arts building to observe, prevent and report fire, theft, vandalism, accidents or unauthorized entry. 

Requires: 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Preferred – Possess an A.A.S. in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or related field.
  • Possess New York State Security Guard registration.
  • Prefer New York State Emergency Technician.
  • Possess two years experience in a security position or 2 year degree in Criminal Justice or related field.  Must have completed eight (8) hour Security Officer pre-assignment training course.

Description:  The Ward Clerk performs defined clerical and receptionist functions on the nursing unit to provide an organized and efficient atmosphere in which to deliver patient care.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Employee is trained and prepared to provide non-direct care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Preferred – Completed a medical terminology course.  Computer knowledge of Meditech system.  Previous experience as a Ward Clerk or Medical Office Coordinator or equivalent.

Description:  The purpose of this position will be directly involved in the needs assessment, analysis of current/future workflows that supports the rollout of the Meditech Expanse implementation to Primary/Specialty Care Providers.  The position provides ongoing monitoring and training of all PCC contributors of the medical records in compliance with New York State Department of Health, DNV and MLMIC standards.

RECREATION THERAPY COORDINATOR

Description:  The purpose of this job is to assist in planning, organizing and implementing the Recreation Therapy/activities program to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the residents, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical, cognitive or age related needs.  Integrates the recreational therapy plan of care into the interdisciplinary plan of care.  Completes MDS+ and other documentation in the resident’s chart as required.

  • Posses high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess Baccalaureate Degree from accredited college or university with a major in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
  • Prefer Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or eligible to sit for the NCTRC exam.
  • Prefer certification as a Recreation Therapist.
