LABORATORY MANAGER

Description:  The purpose of this job is to organize, coordinate and manage the daily activities of the Laboratory to ensure the quality of patient care.

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
  • Prefer Master’s degree or equivalent management experience.
  • Possess three (3) years of prior experience in a supervisory position of a clinical laboratory.  Six (6) years of prior laboratory staff experience is required to qualify for a supervisory position under State law,  total of nine (9) years experience.  The requirement of three (3) years prior supervisory experience, therefore, assumes that the State requirement has been met.
  • Possess working knowledge of state regulations, DNV standards and other Laboratory Regulatory Agency requirements.

PATIENT BILLING REPRESENTATIVE

Description:   Verify that all patients have proper insurance coverage necessary to cover the costs of receiving hospital care or to arrange some other mechanism for payment insuring the Hospital will receive payment.  Gathers all information needed in order to complete the billing process.  Assist walk in patients with questions on their accounts.  Update Meditech with insurance information supplied by patient services.

  • Prefer knowledge of third party payors.

SECURITY OFFICER

Description:  The purpose of this job is to enforce the rules, policies and regulations of the institutions as they relate to employees and other persons.  Patrols the building and grounds of the Hospital and Nursing Home and the Medical Arts Building to observe, prevent and report fire, theft, vandalism, accidents and unauthorized entry. 

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer an Associate’s degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security or related field.
  • Possess New York State Security Guard registration.  New York State Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
  • Possess two (2) years prior experience in a security position.  Must have completed eight (8) hour Security Officer pre-assignment training course.

Description:  The purpose of this job is to coordinate and administer clerical, financial and operational data to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency.  Provide support for the Clinical Nutrition area by processing patient and resident menus and communicating nutritional needs to Diet Aides, Host Clerks and Clinicians within the department.

ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTANT

Description:  The purpose of this job is to assist in preparing confidential financial and statistical information, prepare reports and surveys to appropriate outside agencies and provide support and assistance in the Finance department.

INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYST

Description:  You will be part of the information technology team representing cybersecurity aspects of planning, practice, policy and reporting.  You will be monitoring infiltration attempts, looking for patterns and root cause to ensure infiltration attempts and compromises are identified and remediated in a timely manner.  Identify attack patterns and advise how best to defend against targeted attacks.  Responsible for securing auditing, penetration testing (internal & external), compliance auditing and implementation, among other duties, under the guidance of the Information Security Officer.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer college degree.
  • Prefer certification, with the option to achieve after hire: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 SSCP.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in an Information Security capacity.

AMBULATORY INFORMATICIST

Description:   The Ambulatory Informaticist supports the ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting and optimization of the electronic medical record in the ambulatory environment.  This position supports end users through clinical, front office and financial functionality, working closely with hospital counterparts within a single, integrated system.   This position follows closely operation, regulatory or strategic initiatives with the primary and specialty care setting as they relate to the presentation, capture, reporting and standardization of date.  The position also assists with advanced training for roles specific to the primary and specialty care setting, as it relates to best practice utilization of the electronic medical record.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer two (2) year degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field or substitutable job experience.
  • Prefer strong background in designing, implementing and supporting a Meditech Expanse Ambulatory environment or equivalent.  Five (5) years of progressive responsibility working in a primary or specialty care setting.
  • Prefer Clinical Informatics Certification, transcript of software training.
  • Knowledge of the Information System utilized by NLH to support/document patient care.  Knowledge of New York State Department of Health Code, Physician Quality Reporting Programs and MGMA recommendations.
