Concussion Discussion

Concussion Discussion

Johnstown Movieplex ~ 236 N. Comrie Avenue/Route 30A

Join us for a FREE movie and a discussion on safeguarding the young athlete.

At Littauer, we are passionate about the dangers of concussion, especially repeated concussions. We want to help increase awareness and improve response to this serious sports-related injury.

We have arranged for a private showing of the newly released film Concussion, a 2015 sports medical drama directed and written by Peter Landesman.  Immediately following the movie, our experts will offer a roundtable discussion and give medical advice on how to keep kids safe and in the game.  In addition, our Sports Medicine team will enact a mock concussion, and we will demonstrate the appropriate response to this type of injury.

This program is for coaches, athletic directors, school nurses, health care professionals, parents and athletes involved in high-impact sports.

Presenters include:

Littauer’s Pediatric Services – Richard Solby, D.O.

Littauer’s Sports Medicine – William Oates, P.T.

Johnstown School District – James Robare, Director of Athletics

Seating is limited to 150 and reservations are required.  To attend, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120 or simply email us at StopSportsInjuries@nlh.org
