Description:  The purpose of this job is: to assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities pro-gram to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the residents, taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.

Education: Possesses a high school diploma or GED. An Associate’s degree in Human Services is preferred.

Experience:  Experience working on a social level within geriatric population preferred.

Status:   9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours)

Phlebotomist

Description: Obtains blood samples from patients for laboratory analysis using accepted clinical methods, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical, mental or age-related needs and performs processing of specimens.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer a two year degree from an accredited college.
  • Prefer Phlebotomy certification.
  • Possess one (1) month experience in the drawing of the blood samples from clinical patients.  This does not include on-the-job training.
  • Prefer six (6) months experience in the drawing of blood samples from clinical patients.  Possess good computer skills.

Status:  2:30pm – 11:00pm (20 hours)

$17.96 – $20.09 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service. 

Nurse Manager – Nursing Home

Description: The Nurse Manager is the first line manager designated as the leader for a specified nursing unit, its resident population and the assigned staff.  The Nurse Manager has 24 hour responsibility and accountability for all resident care activities taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.  

Requires:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree or diploma.  
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.  
  • Current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 
  • Two (2) years of medical/surgical experience or two (2) years of long term care experience. 
  • Prefer two (2) years of Nursing management experience in a skilled nursing facility.  

Status:  6:45am – 3:15pm (40 hours)

Rate of Pay: $36.78 – $ /hour

Nursing Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the patient care units in a centralized nursing environment.  The Nursing Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of patient care within the Division of Nursing taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs, investigates and resolves complaints and maintains a safe environment for staff and patients.  The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire hospital in the absence of Department Heads and Administration with the support of the designated “Administrator-on-call”.

Work is performed in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department/unit process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the hospital and nursing department.

EDUCATION:  Graduate from an accredited nursing program with associate’s degree or diploma required.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served.

PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within the first 6 months of hire or transfer.   

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent. 

PREFERRED: Two (2) years nursing management experience.

KNOWLEDGE: Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, accreditation requirements, administrative policies, nursing structure standards, procedures and protocols, union contracts, child abuse reporting requirements, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, scope of practice, documentation computers and communication systems.  Possess knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.  Possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

SHIFT:  5:45PM – 6:15AM | STATUS:  36 hours (Hours will fluctuate depending on departmental needs)

RATE OF PAY: $33.92 – $ / HOUR
