Director of Emergency Department & Medical Surgical Nursing

The Director of Emergency Department & Medical Surgical Nursing is a Registered Nurse who provides unit leadership within the Emergency Department & Medical Surgical Unit (3 West) and works in partnership with the other nursing leaders, departments, the healthcare team, hospital/system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nursing and quality patient care.

The Director of Emergency Department & Medical Surgical Nursing is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsibilities include coordination of patient care; supervision of a professional team that includes nursing and other licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate; administrative and budget management; troubleshooting of problem areas; organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals and objectives. Further, improving unit operations, enhancing communication and feedback, customizing education and staff roles, and accepting organizational accountability for services provided to recipients are critical outcomes expected of this role. Collaborative leadership, strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.  The ideal candidate would possess strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting.

EDUCATION:  Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate’s degree.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served {i.e.: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric} served on their assigned unit.

PREFERRED:  Possess a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree or master’s degree. Certification in area of practice. (Consistent with the type of patient population to be managed). Two (2) years management experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICTION/REGISTRATION:  Possess current New York State License for Registered Processional Nurse.  American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hires. 

EXPERIENCE:  Five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent.

SHIFT: 6:45AM – 3:15PM    |   Hours will fluctuate depending on practice(s) needs   |    STATUS: 40 HOURS

Nathan Littauer Primary Care Center located in Perth has an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurse Site Manager to join our team. 

JOB PURPOSE:  The Registered Nurse Site Manager is the designated leader for a specified Primary/Specialty Care Center Site, its patient population and assigned staff.  The Site Manager has responsibility and accountability for all patient care activities, site operation, staff function and physical space integrity.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program, Bachelor of Science Nursing degree is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICTION/REGISTRATION: Possess current New York State license for Registered Professional Nurse. American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

EXPERIENCE: Possess prior nursing management experience. Two (2) years nursing management experience in a physician office setting is preferred.

STATUS: Full-time (40 hours)  |  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
