Patient Access Representative

The purpose of a Patient Access Representative is to perform all aspects of patient intake from scheduling appointments, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, medical necessity verification and copay/deductible collection.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedules patients for test adhering to established policy and procedures. 
  • Obtains, name, date of birth, social security number, address, clinical history and insurance information.
  • Pre-registers patients and obtains all detailed insurance information.
  • Collects any copays/deductibles at time of pre-registration.
  • Obtains diagnosis information and completes medical necessity verification.
  • Performs insurance verification and pre-certification, when applicable.
  • Interviews patients and obtains all necessary information to register patient for services.

EDUCATION: 

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent required.

PREFFERED: 

  • Possess one (1) or two (2) years of college with completion of an approved program in medical terminology.
  • Possess prior experience with patient scheduling or unit coordinator.  Knowledge of third-party payors desired.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Possess previous experience in health care delivery system with exposure to patient registration.

SHIFT:  9:30AM – 6:00PM      |         STATUS:   40 HOURS  

RATE OF PAY:  $17.71 – $19.21 / HOUR

Description:  The purpose of this job is to receive and deliver products to all areas of the facility in a timely manner. 

Required:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • No prior experience required. 
  • Prefer prior experience in storeroom or hospital setting. 

Status:  6:00am – 6:00pm (28 hours)  Position will require weekend rotation.

Rate of Pay: $17.22 – $19.35

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide clerical support for Primary/Specialty Care Services.  Acts as front-line contact with patients, both by telephone and in person to provide necessary assistance and handle all communication. Supports the medical staff and administrator in the operations of the Mayfield Primary/Specialty Care Center. Takes into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

Requires: 

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess previous customer service experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, physician office practices and Medical Records.
  • Possess one (1) year experience with computer software: MEDENT, MEDITECH, and various Microsoft Office applications.

Status:  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours)

From:  $16.41 to $19.41 per hour.

Dietary Ambassador

***There is a $500 sign on bonus for full time and a $250 sign on bonus for part time Ambassadors***

Description:  The Ambassador is the patient point of contact for Nutritional Services, on their designated unit or area, and supports the department through all aspects of the meal process from patient meal section, tray assembly, transport, delivery and retrieval of the completed food patient/resident nourishments & inventories and stock unit kitchens.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess one (1) to two (2) years working experience in a customer service setting, preferably in Healthcare and/or Food Service.
  • Possess a working knowledge of therapeutic diets and basic computer skills.

Status:  6:00am – 7:30pm (24 hours)

Rate of Pay: $15.86 hour.  Experience differential after one year of service.
