Patient Access RepresentativeThe purpose of a Patient Access Representative is to perform all aspects of patient intake from scheduling appointments, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, medical necessity verification and copay/deductible collection.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Schedules patients for test adhering to established policy and procedures. Obtains, name, date of birth, social security number, address, clinical history and insurance information.Pre-registers patients and obtains all detailed insurance information.Collects any copays/deductibles at time of pre-registration.Obtains diagnosis information and completes medical necessity verification.Performs insurance verification and pre-certification, when applicable.Interviews patients and obtains all necessary information to register patient for services.EDUCATION: Possess a High School diploma or equivalent required.PREFFERED: Possess one (1) or two (2) years of college with completion of an approved program in medical terminology.Possess prior experience with patient scheduling or unit coordinator. Knowledge of third-party payors desired.EXPERIENCE: Possess previous experience in health care delivery system with exposure to patient registration.SHIFT: 9:30AM – 6:00PM | STATUS: 40 HOURS RATE OF PAY: $17.71 – $19.21 / HOUR#208
