Description: Obtains blood samples from patients for laboratory analysis using accepted clinical methods, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical, mental or age-related needs and performs processing of specimens.  

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer a two year degree from an accredited college.
  • Prefer Phlebotomy certification.
  • Possess one (1) month experience in the drawing of the blood samples from clinical patients.  This does not include on-the-job training.
  • Prefer six (6) months experience in the drawing of blood samples from clinical patients.  Possess good computer skills.

Status:  2:30pm – 11:00pm (20 hours)

$17.96 – $20.09 per hour.  Experience differential after one year of service.

Provides services that maintain the proper flow of patients, records and test results in the Laboratory Department.

Education: Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience required; three (3) months of on-the-job training will be provided.

Status: Full-time

Shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Salary Range: $16.41 – $17.91 / hour

Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist

****There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for full time Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist****

Description:  Work in collaboration with the Supervisor of the department and the Laboratory Manager to ensure that all departmental procedures and policies are compiled with appropriately.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be able to perform all duties of a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.  In addition, the Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for technical aspects of the department including: ensuring regulatory compliance, computer file maintenance, writing procedures, review of quality control results, maintaining instrumentation.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will utilize technical expertise and leadership qualities to aid in problem solving within the department.  The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be able to oversee operations of the department independently, on a day to day basis.  

Requires:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in medical technology or equivalent or Bachelors degree with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences and one year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Prefer BSMT/ASCP.
  • Experience preferable but not required as long as education licensure requirement is met.

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

From:  $33.82 to $43.96 hour.  

Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Description: Performs various chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic and other tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Organizes and assesses all work assignments to determine priorities, to segregate test groups and to analyze results.  Performs complex laboratory tests according to written protocol. Analyzes, interprets and evaluates the reliability of test results for which he/she is responsible. Exercises independent judgment in the conduct of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NYS CLT registration/licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or with a major in one of the biological or physical sciences
  • One (1) year clinical laboratory experience

Status:  7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hours)

From:  $33.18 – $43.75 / hour.
