Description: The MDS Coordinator Nurse is a LPN or RN who works under the direction of the Director of Nursing.  Responsible for the input of information into the MDS, coordination of all MDS assessments, CAAS and Care Plans under the supervision of the Consultant RN MDS Nurse.  Work is performed in accordance with established Nursing Home standards, Nursing department structure, established regulatory requirements and consistent with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Facility and Nursing department.  The MDS coordinator will coordinate and lead care conferences.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess an AAS degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Prefer Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing.  MDS Certification and RAC.
  • Possess current NYS license for Practical Nurse or Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Two (2) years of Medical/Surgical or Long-Term Care experience.
  • Prefer two (2) years of Nursing Management experience in a Skilled Nursing facility.

Status:  8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours) Hours will fluctuate depending on departmental needs.

Rate of Pay:  $27.71 – $ /hour

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Nursing Supervisor

Description:  The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the patient care units in a centralized nursing environment. The Nursing Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of patient care within the Division of Nursing taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs, investigates and resolves complaints and maintains a safe environment for staff and patients. The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire hospital in the absence of Department Heads and Administration with the support of the designated “Administrator-on-call”.

Requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit.
  • Prefer Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.
  • Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within the first six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Possess five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent.
  • Prefer two (2) years nursing management experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of NYS Department of Health Code, Rules and Regulations, accreditation requirements, administrative policies, nursing structure standards, procedures and protocols, union contracts, child abuse reporting, OSHA, infection control, safety, body mechanics, scope of practice, documentation computers and communication systems.  Possess knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.  Possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

Assistant Nurse Manager – Emergency Care Center (Emergency Room)

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of the manager of a defined nursing department.  He or she develops and coordinates educational programs for assigned personnel, assists with the evaluation and discipline of employees, and participates in quality improvement activities.  The Assistant Nurse Manager can assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the department Nurse Manager.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit (i.e.: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).

PREFERRED:  Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse.   American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within first six (6) months of hire or transfer.  Medication competency certification.

EXPEREINCE:  Five (5) years’ of prior nursing experience, two (2) of which are consistent with the type of patient population to be managed.

PREFERRED:  Two (2) years’ management experience. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
