Registered Nurse – Recovery Room provides specialized intensive nursing care to diverse patient populations of varying acuity, ranging from infant, pediatric, adolescent, and adult to geriatric during the pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia period in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and ambulatory surgery unit, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs. Work is performed in accordance with State regulations for Registered Nurses, established hospital standards, nursing unit structure, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital and Operating Room/Recovery Room Department.

EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited nursing program. 

PREFERRED: 

• Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.
• PALS/PEARS certification.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or to be obtained within the first six months of hire or transfer and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. 

EXPERIENCE:  One (1) year post graduation Medical/Surgical experience or Critical Care experience.

STATUS: 24 hours (part-time)  /  6:45 Am – 3:15 PM

Rate of Pay: $32.00 – $47.63 / HR
