Everyday we receive thoughtful letters and emails from our patients and their families. Here are just some of what our patients say about us:
In their own words:
“We always feel welcome, cared for, and we appreciate the kindness we receive. Dr. Mona makes me feel very happy and safe with her. We enjoy her very much!”
“I always feel my health concerns are addressed. Crystal Baker and all the staff at Gloversville Primary Care have always treated me and my family with upmost respect and best possible care. My voice is always heard and they always listen. I would never go anywhere else for care.”
“I have had this procedure several times. This was one of, if not the, BEST in terms of results. Doctor had a problem, thoroughly explained it to me, and what he was doing to resolve it. Nursing staff was helpful and also very communicative.”
“Please accept my gratitude for the excellent care provided to my wife by the staff of the emergency room on July 9, 2021.
My wife was recovering from surgery conducted less than a week ago. Her lower legs, ankles, and feet become quite swollen. Fortunately, we chose Nathan Littauer as an emergency room evaluation. The most comprehensive and careful set of tests were conducted. Your staff could not have been more qualified, caring, and competent.
In particular, I would like to especially thank Practitioner Allyson Eggan. Please convey my regards and gratitude to her.”
“Dear Medical Staff and Administration of NLH,
Our whole family thanks you for the special funeral flower arrangement that you sent in memory of our dad, <name withheld>. It was one of our favorites, and helped to brighten our day. Thank you for your support during this heartbreaking time. Littauer has been a big part of our family for years and continues to be into the third generation. We are so grateful for you all.
Our dad was an amazing man who deeply touched many lives. He was a kind and gentle soul; one to be remembered forever!
Thank you for honoring him.”

“To: Dr. Gary Wakeman,
Thank you so much for taking care of me in your ER last Tuesday morning. I didn’t know what follow-up report you might get, so I wanted to send this note.
After confirmation, in conjunction with your diagnosis, imaging showed my right coronary artery was 100% blocked, and they placed a stent. The others were 30-40% blocked.
It seems I’m responding well to my treatment treatment and was discharged Wednesday noon with a set of new medications.
I just wanted to express my gratitude for your rapid and accurate assessment of my condition and for getting my move squared away. Thank you!”
“I wanted to thank the staff who worked the COVID Vaccine Clinic the day my father and step-mother went in. Neither of them are NLH patients, but both expressed how efficient and wonderful all the staff were. They had nothing but praise for all of you and was impressed by the thoughtfulness and kindness of the ‘nurse’ who administered their shot. I had planned on letting NLH know that for both of them, they were very appreciative they were to all of you for making this difficult and scary time, feel comforting. My personal thanks to NLH and everyone for making them feel like ‘family.’
Thank you to all of you!!”
“To Medical Arts Bldg. staff members, as well as anyone else connected,
I had my second Moderna vaccine injection on February10th at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY.
It was a repeat of the first injection,…meaning,…
There were no long periods of waiting, every medical professional with whom I dealt was totally on the ball, so to speak. Each knew exactly what was needed, what her responsibilities were, as well as how to deal with folks that had not experienced this kind of necessary attention in the past.
The personal manner of each staff member could not have been better;…knowing exactly what the job entails, as well as how to answer question offered by the patients. Everything was totally clear. On each occasion, I actually was pleased that I was in the Nathan Littauer Medical Arts Building among the medical professionals.
Additionally, every staff member with whom I spoke had an active sense of humor. This does not mean that they went off on some funny-trip making jokes. I’m stating that any comment I made from a humorous point of view, was easily accepted by the women in the building.
A sense of humor is important?
No question; an active sense of humor amuses the patients, lowers their concerns and health worries. When we administer our sense of humor, it also helps us to reframe any difficulties we may be experiencing. Just ask any of my 6th grade students from 1965 to 2000…and when I meet them in Price Chopper, they immediately know where how to initiate a conversation.
All,…ALL of the women in the building with whom I conversed, helped me in every medical way.
Thank you, ladies,”
“I was ready to give up. Then you guys saved my life. My family and I noticed the hospital was very clean during my stay. The staff were so nice to me and my family. Thank you.”

“Dr. Dowling is a wonderful doctor and cares for a person’s entire being not just the problem at hand.”
“Dr. Shen, Having suffered severe back and leg pain for four years; I just enjoyed my first year totally pain free after you performed sugary surgery on December 2nd. I cannot thank you enough!”
“You’re nurses, anesthesiologists were so kind and comforting. I hope you know that a great group of people are working at NLH. I’ve had several surgeries there and never had a bad experience. I am grateful for a very compassionate group…”
“I’d like to thank the wonderful dedicated staff during my stay at NLH. The nursing, anesthesiologists and all who took care of me- prepping me for thyroid surgery. They all made everything go so smoothly. The nurse who put my IV in was wonderful. I can’t say enough what professional friendly staff you have. Not that I enjoy surgery, because I’ve had my share, but be proud of these wonderful caring workers.”
“Dear NLH, This note is long overdue; but I just want you to know that I think you have a great, clean, and very good hospital. I had knee surgery there and everyone was so nice. I even had afternoon back rubs. I thought the food was delicious and you answered my night calls right away.
I was ready to give up. You saved my life and NLH is so nice and clean. My family noticed it. I just had to tell you!!!”
“Today I had an appointment in your Radiology Department. I was seen by a gentleman named Scott. From the beginning he explained everything. While having my scan he made sure I was warm enough and comfortable. He answered my questions that I had. I was nervous about the appointment, he made me feel comfortable.”
“Nathan Littauer ER, Thank you for the outstanding care you gave my mother, Colleen! Hillary the nurse was incredible. Jolene the NA was amazing. The doctor was wonderful. Everyone was thorough and professional while treating my mother with wonderful care.”
“I was just in your ER and everyone could not have been nicer. I believe I got the best care I have ever received in a hospital. Thank you all, great job!”

“I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the care that every single staff ember provided during my stay. Having recently relocated to Fulton County, I was skeptical about what to expect in terms of medical care, but your service delivery was exceptional!
Each employee I encountered was caring, professional, sensitive, prepared, knowledgeable, empathic and encouraging; providing what I needed before I could ask. That quickly resolved my short-term emergency. Kudos to Dr. Lebarty and the entire 3rd floor team; especially those extraordinary nurses who know who you they are…”

“One year ago today our precious baby boy (5th baby) entered our arms safely. After a few hours of what we all expected to be a quick induction things didn’t go as planned. With the support, and quick thinking of our team, we were rushed into the OR, I was “put out” and you all brought our baby boy “Reil” into the world while keeping me safe too. Words can never express our families appreciation for all of you. The time you took to care, pay attention to every detail, and make quick decisions was vital! So today we wanted to do an act of kindness, and share his special day with you all to say thank you for being you and all that you door every family that enters your doors!”

“I would like to write and say Thank You! I was admitted to the Birthing Center in September and gave birth to my son. The staff was amazing. They treated my family and I wonderfully- everyone from the nurses, doctors, kitchen staff, and housekeeping they were all wonderful. My nurse, Sue, went up and beyond to make sure my family and I were taken care of, she was amazing. I looked forward to having her as my nurse every night! This is my third birth at NLH and I’m very glad I chose to go there… Thank you so much!!!”

“I just wanted to write a note of “Thank You”. I had a colonoscopy yesterday and Doctor Rehman and the entire team he works with were wonderful. From the receptionist all the way through the process were great. They made me feel very welcome and cared for. Your hospital is doing a great job in the past few years. The public is noticing.”

“My son and I just returned home from NLPHCC. We normally see Dr. Pesses and Heather on our visits, which is most often just annual checkups. However today, due to an emergent illness and my work schedule, we needed to see Rainer Feyer, PA. Debbie was great to get back to us within the hour of my calling and schedule an appointment right away. We didn’t even wait 5 minutes to get in to see Rainer. Stephanie was great with my son’s assessment and Rainer was excellent to answer his questions, explain what was going on etc. Again, while we have grown accustomed to the excellent care from Dr. Pesses and Heather, it was nice to still feel comfortable with the rest of the staff. We also had the misfortune to have to see Dr. Vacek the week before for an unrelated illness, and he was great with my son as well.”

“A few weeks ago I was in the Emergency Room 5/11 and then admitted to the hospital from 5/11 to 5/14. I received such wonderful care from everyone that I wanted to let you know. Surgeon, Dr. Togbe was amazing. I thank God he was on duty when I needed him. He was fantastic. Keep up the good work. Thank you!”
June 2, 2014
“I want to say thank you for the best experience I have ever had at a hospital…….ever. Everyone from the receptionist, to the staff, to the janitors treated us with courtesy, kindness and understanding in a professional but very friendly manner. Our visit was to the surgical center, but I have a good idea everyone at the hospital is the same way as the people we encountered. My grandson is nine, autistic and ADHD, and had never had surgery that he could remember. He was treated in such a manner that he never felt any fear. But even more important he was treated as if he were completely without issues. He was treated as a normal little boy…something he rarely gets. All in all thank you. You are wonderful!”
“Pam and Michele are awesome, caring and made my day! I’ve spent 2 months trying to find a department that takes my 2 ins. With no success! Pam made a call and found me one! She removed so much anxiety and stress for me. I am so glad I came here!”
“While at work recently, I needed immediate medical attention. I am extremely impressed with the quick response, professionalism and genuine care I received from my co workers- Dr. Narala, Maryann Bausewein and Kelly Perham.”

“The girls who work in mammography are extremely helpful and very friendly. That makes it easy to talk to them about any problems you might have. Also, Dr. Fotidar is a very nice doctor and is also very easy to discuss any problems you might have. I give everybody there a AAA++ satisfaction report!!!”

“Dear Dr. O’Brien, Francine and staff, Thank you so much for all you have done to help dad and me as well. He enjoyed the light hearted and humorous ways in which you interacted with him. You and your staff went above and beyond to accommodate dad and make him feel comfortable. Your efforts were greatly appreciated.”
“Everyone from the nurses, physicians, housekeeping, dieticians and even the medical director gave us personalized treatment. At all times, we felt informed, attended to and supported by caring professionals. It was an extraordinary experience. Thank you for all your expert care of our mother and your kindness to us.”

“We have for many years spent our summer vacations in Speculator/ Lake Pleasant. During that time, on at least 3 occasions, we found it necessary to use the Nathan Littauer Hospital Emergency Room. Our experiences there have always been positive. When we think of Nathan Littauer, we think of courtesy and competence. I was a patient in your Emergency Room on August 19, 2013 and would like to praise P.A. Blood who cared for me. He is a fine ambassador for your institution.”

“In December of 2011, I wrote to you regarding my experience at Nathan Littauer’s Birthing Center, within that letter, I stated that my husband and I looked forward to utilizing the Birthing Center in the future! This past August, I gave birth to our second daughter, Emily at the Birthing Center. Looking back on my experience from start to finish with both Perth Primary Care- Women’s Health and the Hospital; I am extremely grateful for the care that was provided to me with both of my pregnancies. A woman looks to her Doctor(s) for guidance and support, both of which I received from D. Samach, Jane Bowler and Joanne Pepe. Thank you once again for providing excellent care and service to the patients of Nathan Littauer’s Birthing Center. Also adding, my husband thanks you for the addition of the fold down/ lay flat chairs in the “Recovery Rooms” of the Birthing Center. He was much more comfortable this time around.”

“In this day and age of discontent and complaints, I want to write appositive note about our local hospital, Nathan Littauer. On October 21, I had a family member admitted in very grave condition. She had been sick for a long time. She was elderly and her illness was chronic and progressive. From the moment she was assessed in the ER, the nurses and doctors were wonderful. They informed us in a professional and caring manner of her health status and presented our options with probable outcome. They were very sympathetic to us and gave us lots of emotional support. She was then admitted to Special Care unit, where, unfortunately, she died three days later( as we expected). The SCU staff went out of their way to not only provide the best care to our relative but to also provide us, her family, with compassion and support. They informed us of the family room we could go to (between patient visits) to talk and cry, and they kept us well-supplied with coffee, soda and snacks. They encouraged our questions and input, were never rushing us with decisions and allowed us all the time we needed with our relative. I cannot say enough good about the entire staff. They are hard-working professionals who are to be commended for performing a very difficult job. Thank you all for all you do every day.”

“Dear Mr. Kelly, I would like to compliment the NLH staff that was on duty on Thursday, January 3, 2013 when I was in for a chest x-ray. The girls at the information desk were so cheery. The ladies at the registration desk were very pleasant. And Kelly and Monica in the x-ray department were delightful and so friendly!! All were so efficient in their duties! We are so fortunate to have such kind and caring ladies on your staff! I am so thankful to have NLH in our area to take care of our health needs! Good luck to you all in the future!”
“Dear Sir, I have just completed a four day visit at Nathan Littauer, from 11/18/13 am through 11/21/13 pm in room 310B. I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the quality of help I received from all members of your staff. This includes the emergency room and every doctor, nurse, NA and orderly who shared in my recovery. It is very reassuring to know that if a hospital stay is necessary in the future, it will be eased by the caring, concerned and the expertise of this type of staff. Please extend my gratitude to all the great people who came through the door of 310B during my stay to care for me. With love and appreciation,”

“I am a patient at the Mayfeild Primary Care Center and my doctor is Kelly Viscosi for going on three years now and it makes me so pleased that the level of care, attention, and professionalism is still as excellent as it was when I was a new patient. The women- everyone from the front desk- to the nurses for the blood work, nurse preppins- to the follow up procedure and check out are wonderful. It is so refreshing to be seen on time and not left waiting as so many facilities do these days. Two thumbs up, three if I had an extra.”

“I had a great experience in the Birthing Center from 1/22 – 1/25. I always have a good experience when I come to the hospital for any reason. When I had my baby all the doctors, midwifes, and nurses were especially wonderful. Much love to all that you do!!”

“I have considered stopping nursing on several occasions, but going to the (Nathan Littauer Breastfeeding Support Group) support group and hearing their stories and their ideas has helped me on several occasions. If it were not for this class I probably would not have made it this long. The Nurse Nancy is great. ”

“I would like to let you know just how much I appreciate how well you run your hospital. Today, January 16, 2012, I had an appointment for a couple of tests (withheld to protect privacy) at 8:45am and another at 11:30am. When I was done with my test your employee helped me by getting me back into my wheelchair. She then asked me where I wanted to go, and I told her about the test at 11:30am. She asked me if I could wait a minute, and I said yes. Within 3 minutes she was back and she told me that she had talked to department and they could take me now while their other patient was filling out paper work. How nice can you get? I really felt special. She wheeled me over and took me to the window so that I could sign paperwork, and then she said goodbye and wished me luck. I thanked her from the bottom of my heart for doing both things for me. She was wonderful during the test, talked me right thru it, and was constantly asking if I was ok. And then she went going out of her way to help me out with the next test. Then I met John, a technician, and again a wonderful employee. Very kind and considerate and helpful, knowing the pain that I was in. Needless to say he made my experience a good experience. Thank you again for hiring two wonderful employees, who not only do their jobs, but put a lot extra into it also. So far all my experiences at NL have been excellent ones.”

“Nurse Maureen introduced herself to me, explained what was going to be taking place and answered all my questions without hesitation and with pure honesty. She was gentle and kind and made me feel perfectly at ease . . . Nathan Littauer Hospital should be very proud of the New Birthing Facility they have established. The staff is top-notch and we look forward to utilizing the Birthing Center in the future. Thank you for providing excellent care and staff to your patients.”

“Thanks for the exceptional care by the nursing staff, especially those in I.C.U.”
“I was a recent patient of your emergency room and I wanted to comment on the service I received. I have to say I was extremely impressed. The minute I got there I was immediately treated. The new rooms are beautiful, clean and the atmosphere was comfortable – taking that “white coat” fear out of ones mind. Everyone addressed my needs and made sure I was comfortable. The nurse even asked me if I was hungry, which I really was so I greatly appreciated the food! I even laughed when I received the food because it was really good!
In any case, I wanted to thank everyone there for being so caring and making me just “feel” better. I was scared to be there, but in the end I was relieved that I was ok.”

“Dr. Filippone, I would like to convey my gratitude to you all for the excellent, compassionate, reassuring medical care I received from you”
“Dear Mr. Kelly,
On Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend, my husband was brought to your Emergency Room by ambulance with severe chest pain. Although your wonderfully renovated department was inundated with many, many emergencies; the physicians and staff were consistent in their professionalism and service. As a former administrator to the medical staff of two California hospitals, I am perhaps a bit more aware of hospital performance. It certainly appeared that everyone acted in the highest level of their expertise. We would like to thank you and your staff for the excellent care and attention recently provided.”
“I cannot say enough about the staff. Becky our nurse is WONDERFUL, helpful considerate and patient. Everyone is wonderful to the children”

“…It was by far the best mammogram I have ever had! When I have had mammograms at XXX (another hospital) I have been so uncomfortable. The technician at Littauer told me that because of the digital equipment they use, they have they do not have to press down as hard. And it was fast! My appointment was at 10:30, I filled out my paperwork and by 10:32 I was in. They are the best!”

“I was a patient at NLH/ER yesterday (June 29, 2010) after breaking my arm in a fall. Since I cannot type, I asked my husband to convey my appreciation on my behalf. From the moment of my arrival, all of the staff was attentive and professional and focused on my needs. Both the ER and Radiology/Xray staff made my discomfort more bearable. Special appreciation to ER RN Brandi Maye, Dr. Gorgas and attending RN Kathleen Possillico. Please extend a big thank you to all. I could not have been treated any better. As bad as it was it was for me it was really a great experience. And they were also so nice to my husband. I am feeling better and am awaiting a full recovery. Thank you.”

“Last week, our oldest daughter experienced some health issues, requiring transportation to Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was admitted to pediatrics for two days. She is well again now.
We have many people to thank. First, a special thanks to ASFC’s Don Frye and Wayne Allan. You guys were awesome, both true professionals. We will never forget all that you did for us, especially the quick response time. Thanks for staying with me in the ED and reassuring me. Thanks seems so inadequate at this time. We are very lucky as a community to have people like you in the field.
Thanks so very much to Dr. Laurie Gorgas, ED. Your kind words and professional, caring manner all mean the world to me. You did a great job with her.
Thanks to Eileen and Chantelle, and all of you who were on duty. You are great nurses. I’m so proud of you.
Thanks to all the fine ladies in pediatrics. You took great care of Taylor and the rest of us, too.
Thanks to our dear friend Dr. Robert Werblin, who spent hours of his own time (while not on duty) talking and reassuring. We love you, Doc.
Thanks to Dr. Kumar and Dr. James for caring for Tay. And thank you to all my friends and co-workers who came to see us, asked how she was, called, and sent flowers, treats and your love. Thanks to all of Taylor’s friends for visiting and being there when she needed you.
I hope I didn’t forget anyone. Just know as a family, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all you did.
Nathan Littauer Hospital is a wonderful place filled with great people. I’m proud to be part of that team.”

Thank you all for the recent care of my dad, Jim Stewart. I know you saw him at his worst, but worked hard to get him through his infection and then back to the mild mannered, kind man that he truly is. On behalf of my family, thank you for your dedication, hard work and cheery smiles. All that you did for dad is greatly appreciated.

“At night we were given blankets and pillows, and at that point they felt so good that it was better than a four-star hotel. Truly the grace and kindness of the nurses and staff shown throughout our stay has come to define hospitality, in the holiest sense, to me.

We were allowed to stay there around the clock. We (the patient’s family) were treated with incredible kindness and accommodation. We were offered an endless supply of coffee and Danish, the comfort of blanket and pillows and all was offered with courtesy and a smile.
