Assistant Nurse Manager – Emergency Care Center (Emergency Room)The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who works under the direction of the manager of a defined nursing department. He or she develops and coordinates educational programs for assigned personnel, assists with the evaluation and discipline of employees, and participates in quality improvement activities. The Assistant Nurse Manager can assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the department Nurse Manager.EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group served on their assigned unit (i.e.: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within first six (6) months of hire or transfer. Medication competency certification.EXPEREINCE: Five (5) years’ of prior nursing experience, two (2) of which are consistent with the type of patient population to be managed.PREFERRED: Two (2) years’ management experience. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). SHIFT: 10:45AM – 9:15PM STATUS: 40 HOURS (Hours will fluctuate based departmental needs)
Patient Care Technician – Emergency Care Center***There is a $5,000 sign on bonus for full-time Patient Care Technician and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for part-time Patient Care Technicians***The Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Technician provides clerical support, including order entry, as the patient care and patient flow requires.Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure and standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.SHIFT: 6:45AM – 7:15PM STATUS: 36 hoursEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific groups, which include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION: None at start. Basic Life Support certification within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions.EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience as an ER or Special Care Nurse Assistant, Maternity Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.PREFERRED: Emergency Department experience, Critical Care experience, EMT experience, medical office assistant training.$17.02 per hour. Experience differential after one (1) year of service.
