Patient Access Representative

The purpose of a Patient Access Representative is to perform all aspects of patient intake from scheduling appointments, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, medical necessity verification and copay/deductible collection.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedules patients for test adhering to established policy and procedures. 
  • Obtains, name, date of birth, social security number, address, clinical history and insurance information.
  • Pre-registers patients and obtains all detailed insurance information.
  • Collects any copays/deductibles at time of pre-registration.
  • Obtains diagnosis information and completes medical necessity verification.
  • Performs insurance verification and pre-certification, when applicable.
  • Interviews patients and obtains all necessary information to register patient for services.

EDUCATION: 

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent required.

PREFFERED: 

  • Possess one (1) or two (2) years of college with completion of an approved program in medical terminology.
  • Possess prior experience with patient scheduling or unit coordinator.  Knowledge of third-party payors desired.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Possess previous experience in health care delivery system with exposure to patient registration.

SHIFT:  9:30AM – 6:00PM      |         STATUS:   40 HOURS  

RATE OF PAY:  $17.71 – $19.21 / HOUR

Patient Financial Services Supervisor

The purpose of this job is to supervise inpatient and outpatient billing as well as patient counseling.  Act as a liaison between the hospital and third-party payers.  Coordinate all switchboard-staffing levels.

EDUCATION:  Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent education.  Possesses a 2-year college degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent business administration experience.

PREFERRED:  Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other health related field.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  None

EXPERIENCE:  Possess five (5) years’ healthcare billing experience in a Patient Financial Services preferably in Meditech. Supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE:  Possess a working knowledge of third-party rules and regulations. 

RATE OF PAY: $24.63 – $ /hour

Medical Receptionist – Mayfield

$1,500.00 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR FULL-TIME MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTS

Description:  The purpose of this job is to provide clerical support for Primary/Specialty Care Services.  Acts as front-line contact with patients, both by telephone and in person to provide necessary assistance and handle all communication. Supports the medical staff and administrator in the operations of the Mayfield Primary/Specialty Care Center. Takes into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

Requires: 

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess previous customer service experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, physician office practices and Medical Records.
  • Possess one (1) year experience with computer software: MEDENT, MEDITECH, and various Microsoft Office applications.

Status:  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours)

From:  $16.41 to $19.41 per hour.

Nurse Assistant – Medical/Surgical

***There is a $5,000 sign on bonus for full time and a $2,500 sign on bonus for part time Nurse Assistant’s***

The Nurse Assistant provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment in order to assist nursing and medical personnel in the routine care of patients and the organization of the nursing unit taking into account the individual patient’s age-specific needs.

Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure, process and outcome standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospital and the assigned nursing department taking into account the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.

EDUCATION:   High school diploma or equivalent.  Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific groups which include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION:  None at start.  Basic Life Support certification within six (6) months of hire, three (3) months for ECC and Float Pool positions.

EXPERIENCE:    None.

PREFERRED:     Nurse Assistant Certification or previous experience in a healthcare setting.

Endoscopy Assistant

POSITION: ENDOSCOPY ASSISTANT

JOB PURPOSE:   The Endoscopy Assistant performs a variety of duties as a member of the surgical services team during the patient’s procedure, taking into account the individual patient’s special physical and/or age-related needs.  Assists with the preparation of endoscopy patients, creates/maintains sterile field, issues instruments/equipment to surgeons/assistants.

EDUCATION: Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:  American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within six (6) months.

EXPERIENCE: Possesses no prior experience.

PREFERRED:  Medical Assistant and phlebotomy experience. Experience in Endoscopy or Surgical Services.

SHIFT:  6:45AM – 4:30PM                    STATUS: 40 HOURS

PAY RATE: $18.25 – $20.38 per hour.
