Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Team Donates to Nathan Littauer Birthing Center

GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Nathan Littauer Hospital is pleased to announce a generous grant of $3,000.00 from Stewart’s Shops and the Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Team. This grant was used to purchase a CuddleCot™ for the hospital’s Birthing Center, enhancing the quality of care provided to families experiencing infant loss. According The CuddleCot website, A CuddleCot™ is a specialized cooling device which allows families more time to grieve and bond with their baby after their demise.

The CuddleCot™ is a compassionate way to provide grieving time for families experiencing loss, and preserves their baby’s appearance, condition, and their dignity. The device offers families the time to create precious memories, keep their loved ones close, enable family and friends to meet their baby, and the time to make necessary arrangements.

“We are incredibly grateful to Stewart’s Shops and the Holiday Match Team for their generous gift,” said Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home Vice President of Business Development Geoffrey Peck. “This contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of families during a difficult time, and we are honored to have the support of a community-minded organization such as Stewarts.”

Stewart’s Shops Store 180 Manager, Oshanda Pollard presented Nathan Littauer with a check of $3,000.00 on April 24, 2024. “The Holiday Match program is phenomenal,” said Oshanda. “I hope and pray that people always have just a little to give to such a great cause, because it’s giving back to our community in such a big way. I’ve had all of my six children with Nathan Littauer. With the donation from Stewarts’ Shops to purchase the CuddleCot™, Nathan Littauer can provide a gentle way for grieving parents to mourn the loss of their child.”

“We are thankful to Stewart’s Shops and the Holiday Match Team for their thoughtful and generous grant,” said Maureen Mosher, Manager of the Birthing Center at Nathan Littauer Hospital. “This contribution will have a profound impact on the families we serve, providing some comfort and support.”

The Nathan Littauer Foundation Plans The EVENT 2023

(Las Vegas Style!)

GLOVERSVILLE, NY The Nathan Littauer Foundation is hosting an evening of Las Vegas style. The EVENT returns in 2023 as the Foundation serves up food and live entertainment to support the work of Nathan Littauer Hospital.

This year, the June 16 EVENT will be held at the Eccentric Club, located at 109 North Main Street, Gloversville, NY. Guests from the community, local business leaders, medical staff, Littauer employees, and longtime friends will come together for an evening of celebration and support for the vital work of the hospital.

Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will be used for the purchase of Hematology and Urinalysis analyzers for the Littauer laboratory – equipment that will perform thousands of tests each year. “The new analyzers will automate specimen processing that has been done manually,” said Nathan Littauer Laboratory Manager Ronald Fortes. “Utilizing technology will produce more accurate test results and allow laboratory technologists to complete a larger volume of tests daily.” “The equipment is expensive, but we expect to raise the majority of the $200,000 price tag with this year’s fundraiser,” added Foundation Executive Director Geoffrey Peck.

Guests attending the EVENT will experience an atmosphere of real Vegas flash and style. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the entertainers take the stage beginning at 8:00 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres, a luxe Vegas buffet, carving stations, and signature sweets will be catered by Johnstown’s Union Hall Restaurant.

The Foundation Events Committee went over the top this year, booking three Vegas performers “Elvis” (Donny Elvis – Don Romines of Schenectady, NY), “Sinatra” (Frank Frizalone of Massapequa, NY), and Gloversville native, “Gracie Smilez.” (Anthony Leo).

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on extraordinary silent auction offerings, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Nathan Littauer Foundation’s initiative.

“The EVENT is an opportunity to unite our community in supporting its hospital,” said Nathan Littauer President and CEO Sean Fadale, FACHE. “By attending our extraordinary gala, guests will not only enjoy a memorable evening but also contribute to the overall health and well-being of our community. Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure a brighter future for all.”

Littauer’s Foundation Announces Annual Golf Tournament

The 2019 Adirondack Challenge will take place July 12, 2019

GLOVERSVILLE, NEW YORK  – The Nathan Littauer Foundation is releasing details of The 2019 Adirondack Challenge, a golf tournament supporting the hospital’s mission for improved access to world-class healthcare. “This event celebrates the Hamilton County area’s support of Littauer services in the North County. Without our Primary Care Center in Speculator many people would have no access to safe, affordable and convenient healthcare,” stated Geoff Peck, Executive Director of the Foundation. He added, “We look forward to this event every year and it also happens to be a really fun day of golf.”

“We always receive a very warm welcome from Mike O’Rourke and the staff at the Lake Pleasant Golf Course”, stated Kelly Colby, the Foundation Coordinator. She explained, “This golf tournament is now in its 16th year and many community supporters join us at the links or for lunch or both. I consider these people old friends.”

The golf tournament will be held July 12, 2019 at the Lake Pleasant Golf Club. The shotgun start is at 8:00 am and teams will play a “Scrambled” scrambled format. The cost is $110 per person and includes: 18 holes of golf, golf cart, breakfast, on-course food and drinks, prizes and lunch at the Inn at Speculator. Golfers will compete in two divisions: up to age 65 and 65 and over. Foursomes are welcome to join or single golfers and couples will be teamed up with a foursome.

As our thank-you gift this year each player may choose either a complementary round of golf at Hales Mills Country Club or a round of golf with a cart at Lake Pleasant Golf Course.

Golfers enjoy a round of golf for a great cause.

“Those who would like to enjoy an inspired lunch at the Inn at Speculator can join us at $50 per person,” explained Colby. She added, “And as always, all levels of sponsorships are still available.”

The Adirondack Challenge will benefit continued growth and upgrades to Nathan Littauer Hospital’s Primary/Specialty Care network. “We are asking for support to bring a new Medical Arts Building on the Littauer Hospital campus to fruition,” explained Mr. Peck. “Our community needs improved access to world-class medical care. This 12,000 square-foot facility will greatly increase the ease and efficiency of our patients’ primary care experience.”

People of all ages are encouraged to join the hospital for a day of golf by preregistering with Kelly Colby at 518-773-5505 or by emailing the Foundation at NathanLittauerFoundation@nlh.org.
